The Night of the Yellow Butterflies
This story was one that i disliked. The reason this was is that the story was all over talking about past and present it seemed at least. The main character Doyle also seemed to be a very complex character. He seemed to have alot of aspect in his life, hes talking about the coaching job, and is always talking about drinking, and about baseball. It seemed to me that the story was not very focused and more or less "everywhere". One minute they are talking about his past career and the next there talking about butterflies or a pop fly over the second. In all i did not like the story very much.

Going to run all night
I found the story interesting, from the start it had me caught off guard with the whole army scene. At first i really did not know where the story was going to go the way it had started out. But as it evolved it had me thinking the whole time is he going to get caught, is he going to make it and if so would they believe him even if he did get all the way through. I also liked that as Nilson was running he kept his mind wandering on different things to help him get through it. That probably made the time go by as well as the pain and the surrounding environment . Running through the dark with the chance that the enemy could take you out in a second or capture you, would have me thinking about that the whole time, as well as ways that if it did happen what i would do. But for the most part he kept is mind clear thinking about when he ran the Boston Marathon and other factors of is life. That and he had some real courage to run through like that with nothing to help protect himself. He even took off his shoes that just shows that he was determined to get through and let them know.

Wheelbarrow
The short story, wheel barrow is one that i liked. What i had liked about the story is that Wheelbarrow had stuck with the running all four years of college and never gave up. That shows determination and dedication, to keep pushing yourself over and over year after year. It shows good character. And in the end it worked out for him, it even won him his last race, when people did not believe in him, but he should them that it could be done. I believe you have more drive in you when people tell you, you wont or cant accomplish something, with that being said you end up pushing so much harder then you would if it came naturally. In the end you might come out on top, and even if you don't you still tried your hardest and at least you can say that you tried so hard that your satisfied with that.

Raymonds Run
I find it intresting how squeeky acts like she is so much older than what she really is. For instance she acts like a mother to raymond and basically baby sits him. You can tell that she is not that old because she talks about not having to huslte for money, the fact that she talks about other runner who are in second and third grade which could give her "a run for her money", and getting beat in a spelling bee. I also find it intresting that she acts so tough. Like when she talks about Raymond and if anyone talks about him in a mean way she will beat them up. She's just portrayed so dominately. For instance when the girls come up to her on the street she basically tells them off and shut them up quick.
